Don't Be Shy!

If you are plagued by the limitations of fear, shyness, self-consciousness, then pause for a moment and consider the calm, unself-conscious poise Christ Jesus exhibited as he faced difficult encounters with his persecutors. It is recorded that after a verbal clash with the Pharisees "no man was able to answer him a word, neither durst any man from that day forth ask him any more questions."^{Matt. 22:46;}

Invariably the great Master was led to say the right thing and to perform the appropriate act because he was constantly aware of his unity with God, all-knowing divine Mind. He laid aside a material, personal sense of mind and life and humbly recognized himself to be the individualized expression of God's limitless knowing and doing. He said, "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do."^{John 5:19;}

Christian Science can show you the way to achieve the genuine self-consciousness that Jesus so superbly demonstrated. Through studying the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings and then prayerfully obeying what they teach, you can reach an understanding of your true spiritual selfhood and its inseparable relationship to God, the infinite source of ability, peace, and poise.
