NOW

Let the day open
in a light fall:
the pellucid roundness
of this forever moment.

Oh yes,
I have had to grasp this moment too—
when caverning time posed
its fraudulent threat
in a chilling stretch
of measured hours.

Let the one moment swell in brimming song
to fill the shadows with a dancing day.
Let this moment lift pure being along
the rising springtide of a blessed way.
