It is a pleasure to acknowledge all the blessings I have received through the study of Christian Science. A healing in my early teens brought my family and me into Christian Science. I was so ill my jaws had unlocked and my life was despaired of. My mother was sent for, as I was hospitalized. She brought along a friend for comfort. The friend was a Christian Scientist, and through her prayers I was awakened from my dream. At that time we knew nothing of this Science, but my entire family became devoted students of it. I was healed through Christian Science, and since then I have had no other religion.

After I married, our life led us to many faraway places, as my husband was a geologist-engineer and explorer. In these distant places I could not call my teacher of Christian Science or a Christian Science practitioner, so I turned wholly to God and relied on Him.

One example I will share with you. We were sent to South America on a project where our work was in dense jungle country. There we had extreme heat, poor food, bad water, and poor living conditions, but we were able to overcome all this in due time without ill effects.

In a nearby town we had a secondary office. I spent much time there and so started to look for a Church of Christ, Scientist. There seemed to be none; however, I learned a few women were reading the Bible Lesson in the Christian Science Quarterly on Sunday mornings. Finally, through much effort, I located the home and went on Sunday. The curtains were drawn, no music was played, and the reading was in subdued tones. I had been a soloist for many years and felt disappointed; I knew this situation needed the light and joy Science brings.

About this time a young woman who was a Christian Scientist came to the project, and I took her into my confidence. We went to the reading together. She opened the curtains, and I announced I would like to sing, and we did, loud and clear. From then on things started to open out. We told others, and the service grew. In time we found a room to hold services, and I took care of the music when possible.

Many years have elapsed since then, and the town has grown to a big city. There is now a Church of Christ, Scientist, which gives regular Christian Science lectures. When I see these announcements in the Christian Science periodicals, I am overcome with gratitude to God for the Master, Christ Jesus, and for his follower, Mrs. Eddy, who so lovingly paved the way for us. As I went to these distant places with my Bible, and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy under my arm, I knew all was well. I felt I had on the armor of God. Three years ago I returned to South America and visited the church. Testimonies are given in many languages and they are then translated. Thus Truth marches on!

A more recent healing proved the power of Truth over an accident. As I walked to open my garage door, the brakes on my car let go and the car pinned me to the wall. I could not move and the pain was bad. I called for help; when it finally came and I was released, I could not stand on my legs. I asked to be taken in the house and left alone.

I called a practitioner, and we began to pray, knowing there were no accidents in God and that I was not outside His protecting love. Life includes all activity and movement; I walked in the realm of fetterless Mind.

I tied a rope to the newel post on the stair landing and with this help walked up and down stairs. No one was told of this experience, and since I lived alone, my work was uninterrupted.

At the time I was soloist in a branch church. The services were broadcast. I missed only two Sundays and drove my own car to the service.

I have been healed of grief at the passing of a loved one. Valuable jewelry that was lost was soon found. Through the years I have proved qualities of manhood and womanhood that we have from God in running a business, improving my financial condition, and making a home for myself.

My heartfelt gratitude goes out to God for His all-encompassing love.
