In 1918 I was ready to have an operation for hemorrhoids. Shortly before this a dear sister sent me a Christian Science pamphlet. I read it through and decided to see a Christian Science practitioner. I had a complete healing in one week through this Science. Now I wanted to know more about this healing truth.
Over a period of years I studied the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, when we were near one. During this time there were many healings in our family. Among them were healings of trench mouth and scarlet fever. Many so-called childhood diseases were quickly healed. After moving west, I was healed of the smoking habit. I joined a branch church and The Mother Church and became involved with church work. I have enjoyed many years of teaching Sunday School.
For years I was troubled with migraine headaches. I don't know when the healing came, but one day I realized I had not had one for some time. This was the result of daily study and prayer. The healing was complete.
There isn't room to write of all the blessings. Class instruction continues to be a blessing. My husband did not become a member, but he had help from a practitioner after he suffered a stroke, and he recovered. He loved attending church and read all the Christian Science literature.
Words are not enough to express my gratitude to God, our Father-Mother, for Christian Science and for Christ Jesus' example of sonship with God. I am learning to lean on God's care more each day. The world is a better place since Mrs. Eddy shared this wonderful truth in her book, Science and Health.
