Agelessness
A beaming toddler greeted her Sunday School teacher with the all-absorbing news, "I've a new baby brother!" Her teacher asked with interest, "What is his name?" Joyfully, she exclaimed, "He's Bobby." "How old is your baby brother?" inquired her teacher. She replied promptly, "He's no years old."
Amusing as this remark sounded, her teacher realized that these three simple words, "no years old," point to man's real status as God's image—ageless, timeless, endless. "Life is eternal," writes Mrs. Eddy. And she adds, "We should find this out, and begin the demonstration thereof." Science and Health, p. 246;
Measuring life according to calendar statistics, mankind expects an eventual slowing down of pace, a less attentive ear, a failing memory. But as Christian Science points out, these negative, limited concepts are certainly not true of immortal man, God's spiritual idea.
