As it is now well over ten years since I have had a testimony published in the Christian Science periodicals, I am happy to express my continuing thanks for growth in the understanding of God's great goodness to His children.

While our son and daughter were still infants, my husband's business took us to cities where there were no Christian Science churches or practitioners. There were many lessons to be learned, and I am grateful for the help received through turning to God, and for the prayers of practitioners I called on for support for myself or the children through trying times of illness. Often I would work out the problems myself through study of the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. A practitioner from many hundreds of miles away, who was also a member of the branch church where I maintained my membership, made a point of visiting us en route to her yearly Christian Science association meeting. She gently admonished me to be "a steadfast ray" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 14), and this I fervently strove to be. I know I learned patience at this time, as well as a deep trust in God's loving protection and care of all His ideas.

Our children, while still in their cribs, were both quickly healed of chicken pox, and later on, of mumps. A statement in Science and Health (p.207) was a great help at that time: "There is but one primal cause. Therefore there can be no effect from any other cause, and there can be no reality in aught which does not proceed from this great and only cause."
