Because I have been led to a new life through Christian Science, I would like to express my gratitude with this testimony.

I read something about this religion for the first time in The Herald of Christian Science (German Edition). At that time I was on the way "that leadeth to destruction" (Matt. 7:13), and was a slave to the strong desire for alcohol and nicotine. I also became familiar with drugs, which instead of bringing me into more freedom brought me ever closer to the edge of an abyss. The lines which I read in the Herald awakened in me an interest in this teaching, and so I came to talk with an experienced Christian Scientist, from whom I wanted to learn more of this demonstrable Science. He talked to me of God as Spirit, Love, and intelligence, and of man as perfect, equipped with unlimited capabilities. He explained that man is a spiritual idea created in God's image and likeness. On my way home I felt happy as never before. A deep joy filled me and made me smile all the way.

From this point on a completely new awareness of Life as God opened up for me, which became very noticeable in my daily life. The certainty that I had been led to the real truth of being unfolded naturally. Soon thereafter I began to read the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. The deeper I delved into the book, the more my feeling of having found the truth of God and man was confirmed. That is now four years ago. In the meantime, the spiritual truths of Christian Science have healed me in mind and body.
