Closing an Employment Gap
If an employment gap appears in our experience, this period between jobs need not be a time of discouragement and seem difficult to bridge. It can be an opportunity to gain a better understanding of true employment.
At such a time most people would like to know if it is possible to eliminate the feeling of rejection, fear, and resentment often associated with being out of work. And also what steps one can take to close the gap most quickly.
Let's tackle the second facet of the problem first, because the answer to it can help to resolve the first. The most satisfying and productive first step we can take is to look at the situation through the lens of Christian Science. To put it another way, we can seek to understand what God knows of us and our work.
