Over thirty years ago, when I was a youngster, I noticed a small lump on my head and thought it was a birthmark. I paid no further attention to it until two years ago when my hairdresser became concerned about the lump because it had grown larger since she first met me. She mentioned that her girl friend went to a doctor and had five such lumps removed. I knew she meant well and thanked her, but said that this would not be necessary.
However, I was not alert to reject this suggestion, and I became fearful as a result of the worry expressed on my behalf. Several weeks later the lump became irritated.
I called a Christian Science practitioner who lived out of the city and explained the problem to her. I mentioned that my family was gone and I could not ask them about the origin of the lump.
