Dominion Is Not Domineering!
In the Bible we learn that man has dominion. "Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet." Ps. 8:6; But what is dominion? Dominion, as seen in Christian Science, is the expression of God's power reflected by man.
Oftentimes someone who has a domineering personality erroneously believes he is expressing dominion. This is not so, for a domineering personality is an exercise in human willpower, robbing us of dominion, separating us from the knowledge of the Father, and vitiating our ability to heal. Mrs. Eddy writes: "Human will-power may infringe the rights of man. It produces evil continually, and is not a factor in the realism of being." Science and Health, p. 144;
The real man, made in the image and likeness of God, reflects the nature of God. He expresses the Christ, Truth. Therefore the individual has dominion when he expresses the nature of God, when he actively and consciously reflects Life, Truth, and Love. He thereby demonstrates peace, joy, and health, supply, direction, purpose, well-being, and authority.
