Disease, Only a Random Thought
The alert thinker knows the necessity and value of determining the origin and validity of the thoughts he entertains. "Are thoughts divine or human? That is the important question," Science and Health, p. 462; says Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health.
Christian Science points out that divine thoughts alone are real and powerful and proceed from the one infinite, divine Mind, or Spirit, called God. Human, mortal thoughts are provably powerless when recognized as only the unreal concepts of the so-called carnal, or mortal, mind, which is opposed to God.
Many today are willing to concede that thoughts have some bearing upon the health of the body. But Christian Science shows that thoughts do not merely affect the body; they actually constitute it. In other words, the body is thought objectified. Hence, the importance of prayerfully selecting the thoughts we take into consciousness.
