To Rid the Mind of Fear
Perhaps you have seen someone, maybe on television, dive from a high cliff into the ocean, drive a car at high speed in a race, or talk to a large audience, and have thought, "I wish I had the courage to do that—I wish I weren't afraid." Maybe the very one you were watching, who expressed so much courage, is afraid of the dark or of a mouse, of what he considers to be a bad omen, or even of thunder.
Either we face and overcome fear, or it may impair our mental health, limiting our lives and our ability to serve others. Is there any way Christian Science can help a person faced with a fear problem? Yes! Christian Science affirms God to be the only power, the only cause and creator, ever-present good. Since God, good, is infinite power and all-presence, there can be no evil power or presence of any sort to cause harm to anything in God's kingdom. Hence there is nothing really to fear. Let's go into this further to see how this simple, basic idea can help one who is often afraid gain complete mental health.
