[Ability to demonstrate Christian Science comes with study and practice of the truth taught by Christ Jesus and revealed in Science and Health. This series touches upon some ways in which this truth can be applied.]
Healing by understanding the impersonality of evil
Evil, in all its forms, is an impersonal lie. Referring to evil, Christ Jesus said, "When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." John 8:44;
God, the infinite I AM, is the only real Person. He is the one divine Mind, the living, conscious infinity of good, imparting genuine self-conscious identity to all men. Know and affirm these facts, and vigorously deny that evil can take form as conscious personality subject to disease.
Evil, alias a personal mind in a diseased body, is a hypnotic delusion. It attempts to gain credibility by picturing itself as a conscious, living personality. But because the divine Mind and its ideas is the sum total of being, evil is never an entity—never person, place, thing, circumstance, or condition. It has no life, substance, form, mind, action, or volition. It cannot know itself, see itself, or feel itself.
