Solving the Identity Problem
If you feel like a cipher in the sum total of humanity, then Christian Science has an important message for you. It reveals the infinite value of each individual—that the real identity of man is spiritual, the reflection or expression of God, divine Mind. And it shows how to prove this in practical terms in daily life.
Mrs. Eddy explains: "The individuality of man is no less tangible because it is spiritual and because his life is not at the mercy of matter. The understanding of his spiritual individuality makes man more real, more formidable in truth, and enables him to conquer sin, disease, and death." Science and Health, p. 317;
Christianity has always cherished the supreme value of individual man. This true concept has persisted through the centuries, and democratic society is based upon it. On the other hand, certain philosophical and political systems tend toward minimizing the importance of the individual. They are the direct antithesis of reality. Their influence should be vigorously opposed with Truth, so that the glory of real identity may be understood and demonstrated.
