I am fourteen years old and have only recently had the opportunity to go to a Christian Science Sunday School. But I earlier learned in our home and by going to the church services in a Christian Science Society how to apply Christian Science in my daily life.

I was born with flat feet, and as a result I didn't walk correctly. When I began to wear shoes, specially built ones were necessary. As we were living in North Dakota, I very much wanted to wear cowboy boots, but I couldn't because of my flat feet.

As I grew up, we often talked about perfect structure and of my being God's perfect child. When I was eight, I was listening to the Bible Lesson read aloud. It brought out thoughts about bones. There was this statement from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (pp. 423, 424): "Bones have only the substance of thought which forms them. They are only phenomena of the mind of mortals. The so-called substance of bone is formed first by the parent's mind, through self-division. Soon the child becomes a separate, individualized mortal mind, which takes possession of itself and its own thoughts of bones."
