Develop Your Capabilities
For those who may think they have no capabilities worthy of development, there are some challenging and encouraging words in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health. There Mrs. Eddy writes, "We are all capable of more than we do." Science and Health, p. 89;
Someone may ask, "If I do have latent abilities, how can I become aware of them and learn how to bring them to light?" This is answered in another sentence in the textbook: "A knowledge of the Science of being develops the latent abilities and possibilities of man." p. 128;
In Christian Science we learn that being is just the opposite of what most people believe. They believe it to be contained in a physical body, but through the study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings we find that being is wholly spiritual, the perfect reflection of perfect Spirit, God, who is also Life, Truth, Love. We find that being has existed before human birth and will go on existing after what is termed death. How do we know all this? By learning that God, who is infinite and eternal, is the divine Principle of being and consequently being must be as infinite and eternal as its Principle.
