Christian Science has been my way of life since I was six years old. My family came into Science through my healing of a double mastoid condition. My mother, who was devout in her faith in God, prayed earnestly for help in an hour of extreme need, as I was crying and in pain. The next day I was scheduled to have an operation for the condition. As an answer to her prayer, the words "Christian Science" came to my mother, and she went to find a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy that she had been given years before. After she read and prayed, she came back to find me peaceful and well. My healing was verified by an ear specialist. Since then my reliance on Christian Science has been steadfast.

I am grateful to have been a member of The Mother Church since the age of twelve. I feel this membership kept me from smoking as a teen-ager. I cherish the understanding of God's great love which was given me as a pupil in the Christian Science Sunday School and fully appreciate the dedication of the teachers.

I am also grateful for a healing of self-will. While in high school, I became ill and very weak through a determined effort to diet and force a loss of weight. With the consecrated treatment of a Christian Science practitioner, who is now my teacher, this healing was completed. I was encouraged to study the Lesson-Sermon. I was healed of the weakness and illness, and I recall the healing of self-will was even more joyous to me than the physical healing. It made me grow in my understanding of and love for Christian Science.
