A High School Student Writes
Express Joy!
I try to express joy more consistently every day because it's such a beautiful communication with others. To me, joy radiates love as well as happiness. It is a way of giving and sharing with everyone around me.
Joy is spiritual. It comes from God, and it has the power to make people live in harmony. Christ Jesus expected people to be joyful. "Your joy no man taketh from you," John 16:22; he told his disciples.
The expression of genuine joy is very selfless. But sometimes selfishness makes one believe that he doesn't want to give; he just wants to receive from being kind to others. So what he expresses turns out to be superficiality—fake love. Fake love fails because people see through it. The way in which one gives is how his giving is received.
