THE VERB "TO BE"

I am, he is, thou art;
In every land in every tongue
This is the way we start
To claim our being—in the present.

"Now is the accepted time;...
Now is the day of salvation."
The sacred Scriptures—yours and mine—
Proclaim our instant freedom.

God is, man is, you are;
One universal brotherhood.
No separation, no color bar
Exists where Love is understood.
