A College Student Writes

Never an Underabundance

A college student who studies Christian Science often finds a marked change in his thinking from lack to abundance as he learns that man, created by God in His image and likeness, is given dominion over all the earth. Since man reflects God, man rightly includes all good. God gives all life, intelligence, ability; and man has whatever God gives. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health, "Shall we plead for more at the open fount, which is pouring forth more than we accept?" Science and Health, p. 2;

Christ Jesus gave a beautiful example of supply. Apparently, he never lacked anything. He always had what he needed at any given moment. For instance, he told Peter to get the tax money from a fish's mouth (see Matt. 17:24-27).

Jesus told us why he always had his needs met. Indeed, he gave us a recipe for abundance: "Take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?... for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matt. 6:31-33; This statement is applicable to every human belief of lack, whether the need be for a job, a home, financing a college education, right companionship, or even a more abundant expression of joy, harmony, and serenity.
