When I first took up the study of Christian Science some thirty-odd...
When I first took up the study of Christian Science some thirty-odd years ago, it was not so much with the thought of receiving a healing as it was with the desire to know God better. I felt I should be better prepared to pass on, as at that time I was laboring with what was called an incurable disease. I had taken X-ray and radium treatments, which seemed to help for a while. Then later, when the old trouble appeared again, I felt it was time to get my house in order. I consulted a Christian Science practitioner and started reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and all the Christian Science literature I could get my hands on.
During the first week of study and prayer, I was healed of a stomach disorder I had had for years. Soon followed the healing of the tobacco habit. I had been an inveterate user of tobacco for over thirty years.
When the first-mentioned disease was healed, I do not know. I do know that all sense of fear had left me and that I discontinued taking inventory of myself because I had found God. I knew I had touched the hem of Christ's garment. I was completely healed.
