In the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures...

In the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, we read the words of Mary Baker Eddy (P. 324): "Gladness to leave the false landmarks and joy to see them disappear,—this disposition helps to precipitate the ultimate harmony." Words cannot express my gratitude for having known and studied Christian Science since my youth. About twelve years ago my testimony, published in the periodicals, related healings experienced at the beginning of my study of Christian Science. In those earlier days, the textbook and the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy had not yet been translated, and I did not know English, but divine Love led me along the way of understanding.

It was a marvelous beginning in Science to learn about my true origin. The understanding of this fact filled me with peace and confidence. I thus began to understand the import of the Bible teachings, particularly of the Master's two great commandments (Mark 12:30, 31): "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength" and "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

During the course of my study of Christian Science it has been proven to me many times that divine Love is always ready to answer our needs. During one period I suffered great physical distress. The symptoms were not medically diagnosed, but the malady was of a severe nature. Only the affirmation of perfect life in God enabled me to keep control of my thought. I asked for treatment from a devoted Christian Science practitioner. Through her prayerful support, her visits at the darkest hours, and the ceaseless affirmation of the divine presence my health was restored. The thought that Christ Jesus overcame every obstacle in order to demonstrate Life helped me very much.
