What Do You Need to Be Happy?
If you have accepted the belief that completeness can be found only in the right marriage, you may feel that your need for finding a marriage partner is urgent—so urgent that you're almost willing to see what a computer can arrange for you! But have you ever thought of turning to God for the answer?
God is good. He is the only power, the only Mind. The power of God operates through divine law to supply human needs, as the book of James implies: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17;
It is important that a student of Christian Science not outline what he thinks is necessary to be happy and complete but be willing to trust God's provision of "every good ... and every perfect gift." It helps one if he lets go preconceived ideas that his happiness depends on success in a certain career, a good marriage, children, location in a particular place.
