It is many years since I first heard of Christian Science

It is many years since I first heard of Christian Science. I had been reared in a Protestant home, and my parents were very religious. When I was in my teens, I began asking questions of my friends. I was not satisfied with what I had been taught. I wanted to know more about God—what God is and where God is. After a few years of my asking questions, someone said to me, "I think you are looking for Christian Science." Then I heard that I could purchase a textbook of Christian Science and learn about it.

That was the beginning of a new life for me. I went to the Reading Room and purchased a copy of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Just a few days of reading; the book convinced me that I had found the way to my Father-Mother God and that my prayers were being answered. My parents and other members of my family inquired about the new book that I was studying, and within three months fifteen members of my family, as well as several close friends, had purchased the textbook and had begun the study of Christian Science.

One of my aunts had suffered for more than thirty years with weak and fallen organs, wearing braces in order to walk or lie down. In a very few weeks she was completely healed. Another member of the family was healed of asthma. Most of the family and friends became members of the Christian Science church and active workers.
