Healing Is Our Mission

We all know the proverb that one picture is worth a thousand words. The same could be said of one Christian Science healing, which is worth much more than a great deal of talk about Christian Science.

Healing, as it is understood in Christian Science, is a broad term. It includes, besides the healing of sickness, the correction, or healing, of anything that is unlike God. Healing is a spiritually mental activity, which goes on constantly in the thinking of working Christian Scientists. It includes an understanding denial of the woes and disasters that are depicted daily in our news media, as well as those which confront us in our own individual round of activities. And, when we deny the evils, or errors, that confront us, it is important that we fill in the vacuum that thus appears to have been created in human thought. We do this as we realize the true facts of being, namely, the allness of God and the specific healing truths that are always present in any situation.

Broad generalizations concerning God's allness and goodness are not always sufficient. Specific problems usually need specific answers, just as they do in any exact science. If we don't at once perceive the exact truth needed to heal a given problem, we study our Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings and pray until we do. We can be undismayed in this search, for we know that God is revealing to us day by day what we need to know to go forward.
