Through the study and application of Christian Science I have proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 371), "Truth is an alterative in the entire system, and can make it 'every whit whole.'" I have been able to discard glasses, which I previously felt were necessary for reading, typing, and other close work. At first after I put the glasses aside, when a suggestion of fatigue or tenseness would arise I would return to them. Searching Mrs. Eddy's writings for enlightenment, I found on page 486 of Science and Health: "Sight, hearing, all the spiritual senses of man, are eternal. They cannot be lost. Their reality and immortality are in Spirit and understanding, not in matter, —hence their permanence."

Then I took my stand firmly by leaving the glasses off, and there have been no harmful aftereffects of headaches, tiredness, or discomfort in any way, although I have since done far more studying than I did before. I am grateful that I am spared the expense and discomfort of wearing glasses and, more important, that I now rely more on Mind than on matter.
