Through the study and application of Christian Science I have proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's words (Science and Health, p. 371), "Truth is an alterative in the entire system, and can make it 'every whit whole.'" I have been able to discard glasses, which I previously felt were necessary for reading, typing, and other close work. At first after I put the glasses aside, when a suggestion of fatigue or tenseness would arise I would return to them. Searching Mrs. Eddy's writings for enlightenment, I found on page 486 of Science and Health: "Sight, hearing, all the spiritual senses of man, are eternal. They cannot be lost. Their reality and immortality are in Spirit and understanding, not in matter, —hence their permanence."

Then I took my stand firmly by leaving the glasses off, and there have been no harmful aftereffects of headaches, tiredness, or discomfort in any way, although I have since done far more studying than I did before. I am grateful that I am spared the expense and discomfort of wearing glasses and, more important, that I now rely more on Mind than on matter.

Excessive weight was removed in the following manner. During class instruction it came to me clearly that Truth would remove anything unlike itself, and that if I let Truth do the removing, instead of doing it myself through material means, the result would be permanent, since what God does shall be forever. Truth not only removed the excessive pounds quickly, but also removed a false sense of responsibility which I had been entertaining. When we are willing to let go of everything that is standing in the way of our spiritual progress and cling only to God, our healings come effortlessly.
