"The expression of God's being"

Christian Science reveals God as the unchanging, infinite Principle of man and the universe of spiritual ideas. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this Science, with her clear vision and perception sets forth in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and her other writings many definitions and declarations of what man's real being is. One of these declarations is to be found on page 470 and reads, "Man is the expression of God's being." As this great fact is understood and acknowledged, it is proved that the realities of being, which constitute man's substance, are without material accompaniments.

In studying Mrs. Eddy's writings to learn more of God, we cannot escape learning more of man and his true being. For example, when our Leader tells us (ibid., p. 481), "God's being is infinity, freedom, harmony, and boundless bliss," we know that the infinity, freedom, joy, and boundless love which are God's being are reflected and expressed by man. Jesus, the Way-shower, expressed God's being in his association with those around him.

Today many individuals are giving to the world proofs of man's God-given freedom. A student of Christian Science once found herself in need of increased supply, but even more pressing was the need for examining and purifying her concept of activity. In studying and considering the two references from the textbook just quoted, it became clear to her that since God's being is infinite, it includes every right idea. It was further evident that man expresses this all-inclusive infinity or being as God's reflection.
