Benison

The winds of God are strong and still;
Their surge on land and sea, unspent,
Proclaims His omnipresent power,
His all-embracing government.

Trenchant and swift, the winds unite
To banish hatred, creeds, and fears;
To loose the bonds of those oppressed
Through long and overburdened years.

Such purifying tides must bring
To prisoners a sure release;
And to each heart, in every zone,
Restore Love's benison of peace.
