Being a student of Christian Science...
Being a student of Christian Science and a member of The Mother Church and a branch church, I have read with deep interest the many helpful testimonies of Christian Scientists in the periodicals. To these I should like to add my own testimony.
When I was a child, I suffered from many childhood complaints and was considered to be rather delicate. At this time my mother's attention was drawn to Christian Science. She soon found that the study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and a renewed study of the Scriptures in the light thrown upon them by Christian Science, at once enabled her to solve the mental problems with which she was then faced; and physical disabilities were healed, often instantaneously. She also learned that as her understanding of Christian Science increased she was able to help others as well as herself. From that time on my health began to improve, and I early dispensed with all medicine and medical attention. But it was not until I experienced a speedy recovery from an accident, incurred in a game, that I learned for myself the possibilities of this Science.
I sustained an injury to my knee, which the doctor stated would result in permanent disability unless he were allowed to perform an operation. But through Christian Science I was able to dispense with the operation and resume my normal activities in a remarkably short space of time, and all trace of the injury disappeared. Since then I have learned that Christian Science, when its teachings are correctly understood and applied, can, and does, heal all physical disabilities and diseases, even though they may have been pronounced incurable.
