First, from the very depths of my heart, I want to express...

First, from the very depths of my heart, I want to express my deep gratitude for God, infinite good, who has revealed His living presence and power to us through Christ Jesus, our Way-shower, and Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader.

Then I should like to say that if anyone has some seemingly unsurmountable problem before him, he need not fear. How many times I have been confronted with a high wall on every side! Yet each time the obstacles of mortal sense have been overcome, and I have walked triumphantly on.

Shortly after I became interested in Christian Science, every evidence of losing my home came before me. Having no income, in ill-health and unable to support myself, too proud to go to my parents, I humbly and wholeheartedly turned to Christian Science, and through the help of a practitioner I was able to triumph over the situation. Not being advanced sufficiently in spiritual understanding to dismiss it altogether, three years later I was confronted with the same problem. Thinking that because I had advanced and was in perfect health I was qualified to be self-supporting, I took the path of least resistance and ran from the error. I found myself in a strange city, without friends or income, unable to secure employment, and with funds nearly depleted. I again received help through a practitioner. I shall never forget her words: "You can never run from error. Go home and handle it with the truths you have learned in Christian Science." When I told her that I did not have a home to go to, she would not accept my excuse. She said: "Oh, yes, you have. Didn't Jesus say. 'In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know'?"
