Co-operation in Church Building

IT is helpful to remember that a Christian Science church can be built only by joyful co-operation, based on the oneness of Mind through which the brotherhood of man is demonstrated.

Right co-operation involves appreciation of the sincere efforts of those with whom we must collaborate, and a recognition of the true selfhood of each one as the perfect reflection of God, divine Love, the one infinite intelligence. From this standpoint, we shall not find it difficult to maintain proper respect for others and to further the attainment of harmonious co-operation. And respecting the true qualities expressed by others will also protect us from seeking to push our own personal influence among them.

When we admit that, in reality, our co-worker is God's child, we shall respect his holy task of proving the truth, and not put in his way mere human opinions, which may impede him in faithfully accomplishing the work he has to perform. We shall realize more readily our common duty through which the indissoluble links of brotherly love may be welded. The recognition of common duties brings us closer to one another and adds more and more joy to our co-operation, a joy that triumphantly dispels with its radiant light the intruding errors of mortal mind, such as hatred, envy, and jealousy.
