With a deep sense of gratitude for the wonderful truth...

With a deep sense of gratitude for the wonderful truth taught in Christian Science, I wish to add my testimony of love and obedience to the Discoverer, Founder, and Leader of this great movement, Mary Baker Eddy. Many times I have told myself that I am grateful for Christian Science, but I realize now that it is my duty, as well as privilege, to tell others of the many blessings received.

I experienced my first healing through the result of my own work, after I had studied Christian Science only about five months. As I came off the stage one evening during the middle of a perfomance at the finish of a dance, I fell down and twisted my ankle very badly. The thought came immediately that this was the time to put into practice the understanding I had gained as the result of earnest, diligent study; so I sat down quietly for a few moments and declared the truth. I seemed to know that with God as ever present Love no harm could come to one of His children. After a while I arose and walked upstairs to the dressing room, quite free. Everybody around advised me to go home, as the ankle was swollen by this time; but I insisted on finishing the show, which it was my duty to do. The next day the ankle was still swollen, also discolored; but I felt no pain whatever from that time on. I went through my work without missing a single dance. The following day the ankle was much improved, and in a very short time it was normal.

I am grateful for this early proof of the healing power of God in Christian Science through my own work; also for many other healings since that time. I am thankful for the loving help of practitioners and friends; and especially for the loving protection that I so continuously feel of God's care of me in traveling.
