Having been greatly helped and comforted for fifteen years by reading the testimonies in The Christian Science Journal and Christian Science Sentinel, I wish to add my testimony of gratitude for all that the study of Christian Science has done for me. After years of senseless, ignorant prejudice toward what I thought Christian Science to be, I sought the "little book" which my dear mother had loved when she was with us,—"Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy,—and which I had hidden away.

Material remedies had failed to heal me of exhaustion of the nerves and great mental depression. This sort of mortal thought is indeed a hell, out of which I was lifted by earnest study of the Bible and Science and Health. I would not call a practitioner, as I wished to work it out alone; so my healing was slow; and not until I learned to be a humble seeker for truth was I made free. Since that time, many healings, both moral and physical, have come to me. Through the clear understanding of a practitioner I was healed in two treatments of an attack of appendicitis which was very painful; a broken rib has also been healed; and fear has been overcome. Financial lack has been met. I was given a position I had not even sought, and was able to do the work by knowing each day that God was all-intelligence and ever present.

Early in my experience I was able through the application of Christian Science to help a worker in my home out of the habit of stealing. This has helped me many times in working out other problems. To express gratitude is to live the truth, and so to learn to reflect more love each day.
