Having received so many benefits through Christian Science...
Having received so many benefits through Christian Science it is with a grateful heart I give this testimony. It was through the healing of a friend that my attention was first attracted to Christian Science. At this time my need was seemingly very great, having had two operations, both of which were unsuccessful, and being told by the surgeon that a third was necessary, but he could not guarantee the result. This made me very ready to listen to the suggestion that I try Christian Science. I had already exhausted all such means as rest, change, massage, and severe medical treatment to no avail. I was certainly at the place where "man's extremity is God's opportunity." I had had great difficulty in walking, but made the effort to go to a practitioner. After my first treatment I came away feeling I could walk as I had not been able to do in years. After three weeks I was completely healed and have had no return of this trouble.
For those who think a great understanding is necessary before they can receive this healing, I might say that I did not get any great spiritual enlightenment or understanding during these three weeks, but obedience was the only step I was capable of taking. I went to the practitioner every day as she asked me to do. I gave up drugs, which I had been told before I could not go twenty-four hours without, and I read whatever was required of me. I shall always be grateful for the patience and love of the practitioner.
I can truly say with many others that the joy of physical healing is not to be compared with the joy that comes through the fuller understanding of this truth which sets us free.—Olive M. Lee, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
