Among the Churches

Current Notes

Omaha, Neb. —The edifice of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Forty-first and Davenport Streets, will be completed this year, the officers of the church announced today. This congregation was organized when the growth of First Church made it necessary to divide the city into districts. The Second Church district was designated as west of Thirty-sixth Street and north of Dewey Avenue, and the new congregation held its first service in Dundee Hall, March 29, 1915. A building fund was started and a lot was soon bought. On June 6, 1916, the corner-stone of the new building was laid, and the Sunday School room was completed and occupied the last Sunday of that year. The auditorium portion, when completed, will seat from six to seven hundred. The red tile roof of the edifice will rise sixty feet above the ground.
