It was not a physical need that brought me into Christian Science, but an honest desire to know the truth. For many years I had been a "free thinker," though ever anxious to become a member of, or associate myself with, some church whose teachings I could really understand. I always felt that God is Love, and could never picture to myself a revengeful or hateful God, any more than I could a father who is hateful to his children.

About three years ago I went to a Christian Science lecture and was so impressed with the message given that the following Sunday I visited the Christian Science church in our town. The beautiful simplicity of the service so impressed me that soon I became a regular attendant, and now have the privilege of being a member of this church as well as of The Mother Church. Since coming into Science we have had many proofs of God's allness and ever present help. My wife, who had been a sufferer for many years from varicose veins, has been healed through this wonderful truth.

I myself had been a strong smoker for over thirty years, had worn glasses for thirteen years, but have been completely healed of both false beliefs through the teachings of Christian Science. I was also healed of the belief of rupture, which I had had for forty years, and to-day am depending on God only for my strength, instead of on a truss. Christian Science has also helped me greatly in my business, and many knotty problems have been solved through the application of the truth.
