It was during the summer of 1911, while visiting friends in the country, that I decided to try Christian Science treatment for inflammatory rheumatism. I had had two acute attacks and after the last one the doctor told me I would have one every two years until I became helpless; that the medicine was then affecting my heart. I had suffered from rheumatism for fifteen years at this time and was very lame, especially during the stormy winter weather. Not being acquainted with any Christian Scientist, I wrote to a Christian Science church in the city where I then lived, and was answered so lovingly by the clerk that I determined to take treatment at once. I was entirely healed healed in four treatments. In September, 1919, I had a nervous breakdown which seemingly affected my heart quite seriously. On November 10 I returned to business, and have not since lost one day on account of ill health.

What I am most grateful for is the overcoming of resentment, and for the spiritual uplift and growth following. All that I am and have I owe to Christian Science, and feel that I can only express my gratitude to God, to Mrs. Eddy, and to the practitioner and friends for all their loving help by living worthy of the name "Christian Scientist."
