[Written for the Sentinel.]

At Rest

On twig and bough,
In tiny nest,
Each little bird
Is safe at rest,
Love's watchful eye beholding.

In strain and stress,
Whate'er betide
Of grief or pain,
I may abide
And rest in Love's enfolding.
