Safe during a store robbery
Every time I hear of another horrific shooting, a number of which have occurred recently in the United States, my heart and prayers go out to the wounded and to the family of the victims. To those who have passed on, I receive comfort in my small but growing understanding that God and man can never be separated, and that all men and women dwell eternally in the source of their being—God, divine Love.
Yet I would be remiss if I gave gratitude only for God’s power to comfort after tragedy, but did not give gratitude for God’s power to protect, too.
One time I was working at a 24-hour convenience store during what is commonly called the graveyard shift—from 11:00 at night to 7:00 in the morning. The store was located in a somewhat dangerous part of town, where crime was fairly common.
