Under new management
Driving around town one day, I kept noticing the word management on business signs—pain management, weight management, stress management, etc. It made me pause: Is life really about managing problems?
Management relative to difficulties implies controlling or handling them to keep them from worsening. While that may seem practical, relying on human will and personal effort often results in an endless cycle of striving that leads to frustration and exhaustion. If we’re faced with a problem, the harder we try to fix things through personal effort, the more we reinforce the belief that healing depends on us rather than on God. But healing isn’t actually about willpower; it’s about yielding to divine law, to God’s omnipotent law of health and harmony.
