Thoughtful prayer
In a quiet place
with heightened listening, I wait,
an open consciousness, a field unblocked,
no obstacle to find—
I hear a peaceful thought
like one distant cooing dove,
calm in treeless stillness,
noting a glorious morn,
I listen, truly gratified,
in the wide, wise silence all around.
The thought . . . the message . . . the harmony,
precisely what I yearn to hear in prayer,
with all my trust,
confirming that my motive pure
brings to me
the calm and present constancy
of this quiet place in consciousness,
where prayerful calls are always heard,
and healing, peaceful thoughts flow . . .
. . . from Mother-Father God.
