Keeping up at camp

AARON CRANFORD — STAFF I was worried. I was about to spend the summer as a counselor at a camp for Christian Scientists, and I wasn’t sure I would be able to work to my full potential. I’ve often struggled with fatigue and lack of stamina, especially in sports. And now I was going to be working with the littlest kids at camp, who are always full of energy. On top of that, counselors face constant demands and a feeling of being pulled every which way, and I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to stay energized and excited to work.
Sure enough, after just a week with my campers, I was already starting to feel the work weighing me down. Fatigue was getting to me. I wasn’t as present for the kids as I wanted to be, and there was still a lot of the summer left.
