Childlike joy
Mary Mavis Riley
Children respond with absolute delight,
Unimpressed with “Could be,” “Should have,” or “Might”
Expecting good as what is always right.
Childlikeness cannot leave us, to be sure,
No searching or worrying “Is there more?”
Just innocent acceptance—all is pure.
Trust and purity are the connection
Showing everyone their perfection
As God’s loved, complete, loving reflection.
