Is it easier to take a pill than to pray?
Q: I feel like my friends have it so easy. When they’re sick, they just take medicine. Because I’m a Christian Scientist, when I’m sick, I have to work so hard to have a healing, and it just doesn’t seem worth it.
A: Sometimes it may seem as though it’s easier to take a pill than to pray. But is it really? Maybe medicine seems like a quick fix, but there are some other things to think about.
Medicine takes time to take effect. But spiritual healing can happen in an instant. I’ve definitely seen examples of how just one right thought from God has brought an end to pain or sickness. Maybe this quick result doesn’t happen every time, but it happens often enough to encourage us to go for it.
