Innocent one
Trudi Carter
Dear child, what can I say
about this fear that claims its day?
Truth reveals you’ve done no wrong.
Forever innocent, you’re Life’s song.
Neither fire, nor smoke, nor smell
touches God’s goodness, which shields you well.
Throughout all time, ever bright,
sheltered in His arms with Christ’s light,
loving your neighbor as yourself, you’re free,
pure, and perfect through eternity.
