A letter to our dearly loved readers of The Christian Science Journal, Sentinel, and Herald.

From the Christian Science Sentinel - March 23, 2020

This is an unusual time. As we settle in our homes rather than going about our usual lives, we have an opportunity for the Christian Science healing message to reach and embrace humanity through our periodicals and prayers.

The mission of the periodicals supports what each of us is called to do. We can lean on the all-powerful Truth that is recorded in the Journal. We can engage in the Sentinel’s spiritual watching that heals, and with the Herald, prayerfully proclaim the universal reach of divine Love’s embrace and perpetual care of all humanity.

We want to tell you about the recent steps we’ve taken. Every week we are posting articles and testimonies related to healing contagion on the JSH-Online homepage and on the landing pages for the Journal, Sentinel, and Herald. This content is free for JSH-Online subscribers and non-subscribers to use and share.

We’ve posted additional pages of free content on the themes of immunity, overcoming fear, finding certainty in uncertain times, family harmony, and economic security. New themes and content will be posted regularly as community needs change. You can access them from the JSH-Online homepage or from

The Bible reassures us that “the Lord thy God in the midst of thee [the whole human family] is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing” (Zephaniah 3:17). Surely our prayers can affirm that our loving Father-Mother God is meeting everyone’s need for health, supply, and support. “And not only yourselves are safe, but all whom your thoughts rest upon are thereby benefited,” confirms Mary Baker Eddy (The First Church of Christ, Scientist, and Miscellany, p. 210).

God bless you all,

Barbara Vining
