Overcoming adversity 

Color, culture, gender, social status are not held against me because God, the only creator, recognizes all of us as His beautiful children, as being individual and equally valuable.
When her writing assignment wasn’t coming together, this college student learned a spiritual lesson about where ideas come from.

Who am I really? 

I felt comfortable being true to myself and the values I’d discovered.
After applying for her dream job, this author thought she had her life perfectly mapped out . . . until nothing went the way she expected. Frustrated, she knew she had to find a way to see things differently. But how?
When she found out a close contact had Covid, this college student was initially stressed and scared. But prayer brought a quick turnaround—for her and her friends. 
In an on-again, off-again friendship, this author often felt obligated to keep the peace. But was loving her neighbor at the expense of loving herself actually what Jesus taught? She prayed to find out.

Was I going to flunk? 

The night before the final exam, I began to panic.

Am I a fraud? 

Feeling tongue-tied made this author believe she was less than worthy. But one day, a clear message from God woke her up to the fact that she didn’t have to buy into this view of herself any longer.
It was her first roommate situation, but this author was still expecting the best . . . until her roommate walked in. What saved her from a miserable year? Jesus’ teachings.

Afraid of public speaking? 

She agreed to the high school pageant, not realizing that she was going to have to give a speech in front of everyone. Could prayer help her vanquish her fears?
