Institutional and community reform—what does it take? - Program 223

Guests: Ronald E. Ballard, Don Loster, Noel G. Fischer, Marcia Youngman

We’re all aware of the growing number of institutions and organizations recently shaken by scandals. The collapse of Enron, quickly followed by allegations of misconduct within the accounting firm of Arthur Anderson; the Catholic Church, which is trying to recover from accusations of sexual abuse and cover-up; and the world of figure skating, marked by scandal with the suspension of a French judge and the French federation chief for fixing the judging in the Olympics figure skating event. Not surprisingly, some pollsters say the public’s confidence in some institutions is sagging. So you might be wondering, Will anything good emerge from all this?
