Searching for satisfaction in your life? - Program 231

Guests: Margaret Rogers, Christine Hurley Pappas, Nathan A. Talbot

Will we all look back someday and see this time in our history as the ‘Age of Excess’? Consider, for example, our excessive craving for food. It has us tipping the scales in the U.S. in what’s been labeled an obesity epidemic. Still, are we any closer to feeling truly satisfied? Our consumption of food is in overdrive or our consumption of food and lack of exercise is out of control. Other cravings we often hear about—from alcohol to pornography—point to a relentless search for satisfaction. And although it’s natural to live a satisfying life, is satisfaction ever going to be found in these things? This important question is what we looked at, with the help of people who found lasting satisfaction and freedom, in the truest, deepest sense.
