Recently, a caller from Albuquerque, New Mexico, asked a question that we thought merited an in-depth answer. The gist of his question was, If God is infinite and omnipotent, isn’t He responsible for the evil in the world, as well as for the good? It’s a good question. And in light of some of the events we see regularly on the evening news and in the newspapers—from disasters, such as floods, fires and earthquakes to the deaths of innocent civilians—it’s a question that inevitably touches everyone’s life.
